The Youth Choir from First UMC - Allen, will be at our church Saturday, May 19 at 6:30pm to present this delightful musical written by Rev. JoNell's husband.
The musical tells how the Israelites left Egypt and their journey back to Jerusalem. Oh, did I mention that this musical takes place in the WESTERN part of Egypt, it kinda looked like San Antonio in the old cowboy days.
You may remember this choir; they presented Godspell last May at our church. Anyway, I have had the opportunity to watch them in rehearsals and I know you are going to like this presentation of the old West.
So plan now to see and learn about Moses leading his people out of Egypt to the Promised Land.

Saturday, March 24, part of our handbell
choir attended the Greater Dallas Handbell Association Handbell
Festival in Coppell. We had a great time. We learned a lot and
enjoyed the smaller venue with nine other handbell choirs. Next
year the festival will be held at FUMC-Allen - where I used to be
the Director of Music.
If you enjoy singing - singing the beautiful, poignant music of Lent and the exhilarating, exciting
music of Easter - then I invite you to join the Chancel choir on March 7 through April 8.
Thank You, Thank You
Do you enjoy singing with a brass quartet? Do you enjoy singing Handel's magnificent 'Hallelujah Chorus'?
On March 24 the Chapel Bells of CHUMC will join with twenty other handbell choirs to ring at this year's Greater Dallas Handbell Festival. The festival will be held at First UMC in Coppell, TX. There will be a closing concert at 4:00 pm that everyone is invited.
If you have never seen twenty or so handbell choirs ring together, then you are in for a treat. The music seems to jump off the page and surrounds you with a glorious, heavenly sound. I encourage you to mark your calendars now so that you won't miss this wonderful concert, plus you will be supporting and cheering on our very own Chapel Bells Choir.
The first two Sundays in February, the Sonshine Choir (children's) will be
selling stock for choir camp that is from June 12 – 16 this year. The
stocks will cost $10.00 a share.
At the beginning of this year did you happen to say to yourself, "Gosh, I
love to sing, think I will join the choir!" If so, then what better time than
NOW. The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday nights at 7:30 to 9:00
and we are ALWAYS looking for new singers. We accept people that sing
soprano, alto, tenor or bass. We have a wonderful year ahead of us, with
lots of beautiful music that adds to our worship services. Plus we are
giving serious thought to an old-fashioned talent show with tried and true
fun music and some costuming. So come on, join the choir and be part of
this delightful group. Hope to see you Wednesday night!
