It’s time to begin holding regular CHUMC Emmaus community meetings at our church. After our last 5th Sunday presentation about Walk to Emmaus, we are receiving inquiries to sponsor several CHUMC men and women.

All we have to decide is what day and time we can meet regularly here at the church. We can meet in the Sunday Morning Prayer room off Fellowship Hall.

A by-product of being active in the local Emmaus group is that many of our church leaders were inspired by their Walk and have become outstanding servant leaders from their participation in a 4-day weekend. Some participants who have gone on the Walk have said that their lives were changed!

Let's have a re-organization meeting here at the church on Sunday, February 19, following church services. It will be brief. Let's commit to being active in the Emmaus Community again! See you there!

Our Chapel Hill UMC 5th Sunday Walk to Emmaus event has helped two people come forward so far who plan to take the Walk. There are several others who are processing the information.

Chapel Hill UMC extends our thanks for the wonderful presentation given this past Sunday by David Taylor, the President of Emmaus-Denton. David, his wife Pam, and their daughter Nicki are active members of Trietsch United Methodist Church in Lewisville. David did an outstanding job of describing the Walk to Emmaus program and the associated benefits from taking the Walk.

If you need more information on Walk to Emmaus, talk with Rev. JoNell Lindh, Sherry Vineyard, Margaret or T. Reeves, George or Martha Johnson. If you need a sponsor and you have a sponsor in mind, or if you want more information about the program, these people will be able to help. We have the Emmaus forms in the Adult Education office.

Chapel Hill UMC has invited the Dallas Emmaus Community to speak to us about their programs for Adults, Youth, and Children. David Taylor, District President will be our guest speaker Sunday. I know you will be inspired by what he will tell you about Emmaus.

Come and have a Pancake Breakfast and listen to an Emmaus Community speaker who is one of Christ's disciples and "a servant of all" tell us about this wonderful Emmaus program.

Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. The program's approach seriously considers the model of Christ's servant hood and encourages Christ's disciples to act in ways appropriate to being "a servant of all."

You will want to come and have pancakes cooked by the United Methodist Men and learn about how you can become a Walk to Emmaus pilgrim if you are not currently a member. Or perhaps you are a current Emmaus member and you want to sponsor someone at Chapel Hill UMC to join an Emmaus community.
