October 2014: Monthly Outreach Project – Operation Gratitude

Operation Gratitude

The Outreach Project for this month is Operation Gratitude!

The M.O.P. for October goes to benefit our troops and you can help!! Ever wondered what you are going to do with your leftover Halloween candy on November 1, 2014? Or how you can talk your children and grandchildren into eating some and letting the rest go?

We know exactly what you can do with all of that unwanted or coveted candy after Halloween this year – give it to the troops overseas!

Operation Gratitude annually sends 150,000+ care packages filled with snacks, entertainment, hygiene and hand-made items, and thank you notes to our troops. The mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of our Active Duty and Veteran communities. Below is our goal for this mission, we are asking you to help us donate:

  1. Your leftover Halloween candy
  2. 150 new toothbrushes, toothpaste or floss
  3. 150 small beanie babies or plush toys (6″ or smaller)
  4. 300 handwritten, decorated thank you cards

So, how can we accomplish this? If each of you could simply bring 1 of each of these items and 2 thank you notes to church no later than Sunday, November 2, 2014 – we can reach our goal!

Thank you for helping,
– Your Outreach Team

I wish above all things that you may know how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ for you.
