Metro District, North Texas Conference
Registration/Gathering will begin at 8:30 am. Class begins immediately following registration and ends promptly at 3:00 pm.
Course: The Organization of the United Methodist Church, Author Jack M. Tuell
The Metro District Lay Servant Ministry family is excited to again host this training session. The goal is to equip conference laity and clergy for fruitful work internally and externally in the community. This course is open to pastors, lay leaders, church council members, new members and all laity in the North Texas Conference and beyond. The church’s polity is discussed including its strengths and weaknesses. A 21st century global church is connectional and continues to change while reaching up to God, making disciples for the transformation of the world. We strongly suggest that you read the book prior to class time. The course will also include updates from the 2012 Book of Discipline as well as additional analysis of current resources and information related to the NTC and the general church.
There will be intermittent breaks including a lunch break. In addition, lunch will be provided (sign-up on the registration form) for a modest fee.
Please order your book early. This book can be ordered through multiple sources: Cokesbury Online, Amazon or other sources. The book is published in paperback.
