Pool Party
The Elementary Sunday School Class will be having a Pool Party at Janet and Steve’s house!
Date: Sunday, June 30, 2013
Time: 12:00 pm-ish to 3:00 pm
You can go over anytime after the reception for JoNell.
Please bring your swim bag with you. You will need a swim suit, towel, and sunscreen. There will be sandwiches and snacks.
The teachers and parents are encouraged to stay also. You may bring your swimsuit or just sit on the patio. Either way it will be a fun afternoon.
Project Transformation Reading Volunteers
This is a key component of the program. You can help unlock a child’s love of reading. The first step is to sign up on the registration sheet. If you have not completed Ministry Safe, please include your e-mail. You must have this complete before you do the training. Training is at 9:30 on Mondays throughout the program. You may come to any of these, on a week you are volunteering; you only have to do it once.
Chapel Hill’s week is July 15-18, 2013. However you may set up a schedule with Emily to volunteer more frequently, based on their needs. After you have done the training you should come at 9:50.
Punctuality is appreciated. It is best to have 10-15 volunteers each week, so when it is not our turn we will let the scheduled church’s volunteers go first.
Your responsibilities will be to sit and listen to a child read, giving encouragement and help as needed. Chairs are provided this year for those who do not want to sit on the floor. If you use a walker and would like a wheel chair, we can provide that too.
