Outreach and the End-of-the-Year, 2012-2013 Activities at Cabell

Book Outreach: June 7, 2013

Jim Hanigan and Archie Shivar delivered tubs and more tubs, boxes and more boxes of books for Cabell Elementary students’ Summer reading. From one of the Fourth Grade teachers: The children were so excited to get the books. “Oh, we get chapter books!”

Thanks to Half Price Books for all those books and to our Outreach Team for sorting and sorting the books by grade! There were even classroom and instructional books for the teachers this year! Thank you, Jim and Archie for delivering the books.

Career Day: June 10, 2013

Joel Rangel spoke with two groups of fifth graders during Career Day at Cabell Elementary. He shared with the students tools that he uses in his electrical work. The students really liked the “props” that Mr. Rangel brought and explained.
