This weekend brought a lot of excitement to “The Hill.” We celebrated the marriage of Howard Stansell and Sherri DeBacker. We celebrate the joining together of two faith-full servants and in that union a new community of their two families brought together by love. Congratulations!
We welcome Sherri Stansell as our newest member of Chapel Hill. We will happily fold you into this body of Christ and welcome your gifts and graces to this congregation.
Chapel Hill bids farewell to two saints of the church, Juanita Davis, Barbara Meade’s mother, and Bob Mason. Juanita’s service on Friday was a grand tribute to a woman of faith and service through her faith in Christ. We will celebrate Bob Mason’s heavenly birthday on June 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM here at Chapel Hill UMC.
We congratulate all our graduates from the various endeavors they were pursuing and pray God’s rich blessings on their lives as they go forward to the next step in their education or in leading fruitful lives for Christ.
Next Sunday’s worship, June 2, 2013, will be a Communion Sunday. Please join us for our 10:30 AM Worship Experience as we celebrate Holy Communion together. All are welcome at the Lord’s Table. The scripture for the day will be Luke 7:1-10. We will introduce the Project Transformation interns.
Next Sunday begins the Annual Conference of the North Texas Conference. Please keep all the lay and clergy members in your prayers as they come together to reason together and to conference with each other and to give high praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I will be attending with our Lay Member, Howard Stansell. The Conference will be held this year at First United Methodist of Richardson. Opening Worship will be held on June 2, 2013, at First UMC Richardson at 7:00 PM. The Ordination Service will be Monday, June 3, 2013. at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary of First UMC Richardson. The Methodist Ordination Service is a sacred and holy service. If you have never attended, take this opportunity to be present as a witness to your faith and support for those who will be stepping out into ministry as ordained Elders and Deacons. The Annual Conference will come to a close at the end of business on Tuesday, June 4, 2013.
Chapel Hill will hold our own conference at 11:30 AM on Sunday, June 9, 2013 as we gather after worship for our All Church Council meeting. Please plan to attend so that as members of your church, you are kept abreast of the business of the church. See you there.
