October 14, 2014: North Texas Giving Day Update

North Texas Giving Day

Through the generosity of Ernst & Young, CPA firm and Project Transformation, we accomplished some projects around the church and proved that many hands make fast work.

Among things on our list were:

  • Assembled a new crib for our newly renovated nursery.
  • Hands on help with homework.
  • Dismantled the Theatre Room and moved to another area.
  • Created literacy games for after school program.

Additionally, our corporate event with Ernst & Young, Connect Day, was attended by 9 employees and was well received. Additionally, 100% of volunteers reported increased interest and understanding of Project Transformation’s program model.

Project Transformation is pleased to report that we exceeded our giving goals for North Texas Giving Day. On September 18, 2014, we raised $11,015 exceeding our goal by 10%. We received 95 individual, unique gifts.

Please see our thank you video to all who generously donated to Project Transformation on the day:

From 6:00 am to midnight on September 18, 2014, donations poured in from all 50 states, six territories and more than 28 countries. Twenty-six percent of donations were from first-time givers to their chosen charity.

Communities Foundation of Texas also reported the following:

  • In a landslide day of giving, the sixth annual North Texas Giving Day exceeded its own National Giving Day record by raising more than $26.3 million in 18 hours, surpassing 2013 results by more than $1 million.
  • Community-wide events, nonprofit performances and a groundswell of support led to widespread buzz and excitement. The staggering number of more than 98,000 donations exceeded last year. This year, 1,580 nonprofits benefited.

Our Thanks to all who volunteered from Chapel Hill to jump start some back burner projects. The interns from EY & PT are to be commended for the time and effort put into North Texas Giving Day.

“Praise God from whom all blessings flow” – Nancy Hartman.
