Bible Presentation Sunday
We had five wonderful kids participate in Bible Sunday this week. Chris, Nathan, Signe, Maddox, and Shelby took a special Sunday School Class about the Bible. They learned how the books of the Bible are organized and had an introduction about how to look for different messages in different types of books. The kids organized a large puzzle of the books of the Old Testament into these categories: The Law, History, Poetry and Wisdom, and Prophets. They organized the books of the New Testament into: Gospels, History, Paul’s Letters, Other Letters and Revelation. The kids also made a special type of Bible book mark, so that they can easily find the different sections of the Bible. They took home a workbook of activities to help them learn even more skills in how to find information in the Bible and how to learn from God’s Word.
During Worship, The kids were presented with a Bible as a gift from Chapel Hill. This Bible is the Common English version with illustrations that we also use with the Elementary Sunday School. It gives them the same information as our NRSV pew Bibles. Chapel Hill offers this class once a year for students in grade 3-5 who have not done it before. It is truly a blessing to be a blessing in this way for children whose faith is growing as rapidly as they are. Please continue your prayers that God leads these children in His path for their lives.
Annual Parent Packet
Parents should have received a packet of Fall Information on Sunday morning. If you did not get it, then find me next Sunday.

Fabulous 5ths
We are going to kick off the return of the Fabulous 5ths (a program for 5th graders) with a Sunday School Family Dinner Out on Sunday, October 5, 2014.
All church families with children from nursery -5th grade are invited to attend. We will meet at Nickel Mania at 6:15 pm.
We ask that each family:
- Makes a donation of $5 or more towards the cost of the pizza and drinks
- Brings $1.50/per person entrance fee
- Brings as many nickels as you would like for games
*Please bring your donation to church on September 28, 2014, to reserve your spot.
The Fabulous 5ths (5th graders only) will meet on the 5th of each month for fellowship and fun at various locations.
Dawn and Bodie will give the kids a chance to get to know each other better and to help them transition to youth next year.
SAVE THE DATE:
Kids in a Box – Saturday, September 27, 2014
The youth will be putting together boxes and decorating them, painting them and making them into a home to sleep in overnight.
