August 3, 2015: A Note from Pastor Mai

As I write this article, we are in the first week of August, a transition time from the busy months of summer to fall. I wish I could say that our summer was relaxed and calm but I know that was far from the case. In June, we had a fantastic VBS under the leadership of Tiffany Smith, Melanie Willhite, and numerous volunteers to make this occasion a huge success. Come July, our church was busting with more than 130 Project Transformation children and Interns; a blessing to the underserved families in the neighborhood and an opportunity for the church to bear witness to the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Now that August is here and the store shelves are stocked with new school supplies, our thoughts turn to the upcoming activities for the fall. Soon, school will be in full swing including the German school on the church site, and parents will be busy taking their children to special events and doing what parents do during the school season.

Here at Chapel Hill, the church will soon return to our regular activities. The choir will start up this Wednesday night and be back to worship before you know it. Disciple Bible Study will be resuming August 20, all committee meetings will be back to the regular meeting times, the fabulous Message Experience for children will be restarted this coming Sunday, Promotion Sunday and back-to-school bash just to name a very few. On August 9, Isiak will have the first meeting to begin the Youth Choir, an important ministry that offers our youth an excellent opportunity to show off their talents for future worship opportunities. Tiffany will continue in her role as the Children’s Choir Director, and they will begin August 30 as we are anxious to have the children back to worship once again.

There are many more events and activities that are in the works, so stay tuned for any future announcements. I hope to see you in church this Sunday.

Mai

EPHESIANS 3:18

I wish above all things that you may know how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ for you.
