From the Desk of the Trustees

Our undying thanks to the 18 dedicated servant leaders who showed up for Work Day. While we accomplished a lot, some important things went undone (i.e. pews in the sanctuary) so for those who had conflicts, we may have another work day after Easter and you can still get in on the action.

This is what I personally observed: First of all, many of the younger and newer members were present and singing while they worked which was so nice. Just around the time I think “what’s going to happen to us, we don’t have more young people”, they storm in ready to go to work with willing heart and smiles on their faces. What is more evident is how much they love the Lord and Chapel Hill. My faith (and energy) was restored as I watched them work! If we just had 20-30 more like them, oh, what great shape we would be in!

We only had one casualty and that was not a person but a thing. When the sheers in the parlor were washed, they came out in shreds. But on reflection, we have used them for 18 years so I feel it would not be proper to ask for our money back! If anyone is inclined to go the extra mile and purchase new sheers or drapes, we would be most appreciative. We will complete a wish list so you can choose what appeals to you and help beautify the church at the same time.

We look forward to a beautiful spring Lenten Service and a clean church for our families and friends. Many children’s events are planned along with a Lenten bible study, Maundy Thursday Service, and Good Friday Service. So bring your kids, family, and neighbors as we celebrate the resurrection of our Christ.

It truly takes a village, doesn’t it?
