Chapel Hill UMC is 57 years old this week! Thank God for our church and for the past Ministers and members for their faith and vision in believing in Chapel Hill. As Mentioned several weeks ago in the Newsletter, Rev. Robert Langley was appointed June 5, 1959, with more than 40 worshippers in attendance and from that group 16 attending the worship became charter members
Twenty-five years later in July 1984, Rev. Dan Williams invited Rev. Robert Langley to return to bring the message for the Sunday service. As a part of the 25th celebration the Memoriam board was installed in the Narthex.
Fifty years later Chapel Hill celebrated the 50th Jubilee during the weekend of July 10th, 11th, and 12th, 2009 with a number of past pastors, including Rev. Robert Langley, Bishop Bledsoe, District Superintendent Larry George and our then current pastor Rev. JoNell Lindh present for the Sunday morning worship service. Many former members joined present members for a very special service with the message brought by the Bishop. Following the service all proceeded to the prayer garden/labyrinth for the dedication service of the structure in recognition of Chapel Hill’s 50 years of being a caring, sharing, loving congregation serving the Lord Jesus. We thank God for so many blessings!
