Wednesday, March 1, is Ash Wednesday and it begins the season of Lent. Lent observes the 40 days (excluding Sundays) that lead up to Easter.
Chapel Hill will observe Ash Wednesday with a Break-fast meal at 6:00 pm. Then there will be a service of reflection and imposition of ashes at 7:00 pm. All are asked to participate in the “fast” in some way. It can be from a complete fast for the 24 hours leading up to the service, just giving up snack-time, or even giving up social media. Please join your fellow congregants as we begin this most holy of seasons in the Christian church.
If you would like to help in the preparation of the meal (either bring food items or physical help), call Jan Wooldridge, 972/243-1108. In addition, the sanctuary will be open during regular hours for personal reflection and imposition of ashes by Pastor Odom.
