About this time last year, members of the Outreach committee put out the word to collect as many Christmas cards as possible. Many stores have them on sale at up to 75% off or more. Some people donated their own stash of extra Christmas cards and the result was over 1000 cards! The Stewpot allowed us to distribute the cards at their facility for the homeless in downtown Dallas. We were there for two full days and nearly all of the cards were snapped up. The clients at The Stewpot were so excited to be able to be send cards to friends and family. We brought the cards and The Stewpot paid the postage. In order to continue this heartwarming ministry, we need to start collecting cards again right now. Please get out there and find some real deals on boxes of cards and bring them to Kandy Burdette. And if you want to help man the distribution table next year, sign up now.
