Great Expectations

As we begin 2017, many of us will adopt resolutions that are intended to shape our behavior over the next 12 months.  Many of us will adopt the same resolutions we have adopted for years……exercise more, eat healthier, improve our relationships, save more, stay within budget, watch less T.V., ……and the list goes on.  In a way, these resolutions express the expectations we have for our lives, our families, our careers, and yes…our church.

In fact, each of us has etched in our minds a very personal picture of where we want to be at age 30, 40, 50, 60, and beyond. Our images are drawn with the greatest of expectations. In many ways, these expectations represent the hope we have for our lives.  However, sometimes our plans and expectations fall short of picture perfect. How do we construct and adopt realistic, yet GREAT, expectations? In this series, we’ll take a look at a few of the expectations we have for our spiritual journey and for the life of our church.

EPHESIANS 3:18

I wish above all things that you may know how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ for you.
