Good news. A HUGE THANK YOU to the faithful few who braved the COLD winter night to greet the people coming through the Historic Park of Farmers Branch. When all was totaled, we earned $3,100 dollars for Chapel Hill. Over 700 cars came through to view the spectacular lights. It was 24 degrees that night with a wind chill factor of 13. BRRR! Those helping out that night were: Clare & Kirk Connally. Tom & Jan Wooldridge, Carl and Margaret Young, Patsy Kaphengst, Ruth Fuls, Bob Bull (our awesome Santa Claus), Robert Putnam, Jim Hanigan, Andy Hoelle and Pat Thompson. So next time you see one of the brave souls, Give them a pat on the back and a HUGE THANK YOU.
Also, a big thank you to all those who came and caroled at the Farmers Branch Recreation Center at their Open House. It included many choir members, children, and church members (too numerous for me to name, lest I leave someone out). Our choir director brought his guitar and we had a fun time singing along with our favorite Christmas songs. Both activities gave great exposure for our church while earning money to help the church in general as well as our choir. Again, don’t forget to say thank you to those volunteering and representing Chapel Hill in a positive manner.
