Over the next four weeks, you will be reading excerpts from our new minister’s biography. It will tell of his Christian journey so far, his beliefs and about his family.
I grew up in The Colony and graduated from The Colony High School. High school and church is where I met my wife Katy Allen. Katy is an elementary teacher. She is soon to be certified as a language therapist and is this week receiving her Masters in Education for Curriculum and Instruction. She has a passion for the faith development of youth and is a novice guitarist. We are blessed with two children: Ava (13) and Gaje (11).
I originally trained for ministry as a Baptist minister-in-training at George W. Truett Seminary at Baylor University where I received my M.Div. Following a faith shift during and after seminary and a sojourn from ministry, my family joined the First United Methodist Church in The Colony in 2008. A few years later, the call to ministry reemerged and I began the journey toward my ordination in 2015, including attending Perkins School of Theology where I received a Masters of Theological Studies.
