I write today to inform you of a couple of events that I think will be of interest to you. The first is the 2021 Annual Gathering of the Laity of the North Texas Conference. The theme this year is Set in Motion: Has the Church Left the Building? It appears to be geared toward what ministry will be like and to gear up for ministry following the pandemic. While we appear to be taking somewhat of a step back in our recovery with the spread of the delta variant, such preparation will be needed for when we are able to return fully to normal and live into the future of making disciples for the transformation of the world.

Also, please join us after worship this coming Sunday for our first All Church Meeting since before the pandemic. We will have brief reports about the ongoing ministries at CHUMC and discuss the possibility of an alternative structure for leadership and committees at the church which consists of merging most of the administrative boards of the church into a single board.
