Pastor’s Message: June 1, 2021

Well, CHUMC Family, I know many of you have embraced joining us back for worship and in person and you have been able to embrace the comfort of mask optional worship for those who are fully vaccinated and congregational singing. And our small groups of all ages are slowly finding their way back to gathering.

This is a long way to state we are slowly climbing back to normal. With that in mind, you may recall that just a couple of months before the pandemic began we released the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Communications Plan. This was a plan developed to ensure announcements are made in a timely manner and in such a way that the newsletter and worship slideshow are not needing to be edited last minute.

With things returning to normal, I need to let you know the Communications Plan is once again in effect. You can review it here:

If you need a print copy of the Communications Plan, the office can provide one to you.

It will be important for any ministry leader, committee leader, or anyone else requesting announcements be made in the newsletter, worship, or on social media to review this Communications Plan and plan ahead for their announcements as exceptions will be rare when deadlines are missed. It is only fair to those responsible for preparing this media who have numerous other responsibilities and/or are volunteers.

As you prepare for any announcements needing to be made, also remember you will be responsible for booking any rooms you may need either with the print form in the office or online here:

This is especially important as we continue the slow climb toward herd immunity and rooms may be available on a limited basis.

We thank you for your understanding and give thanks as God carries us forth in grace.

Grace and peace,

Rev. J.D. Allen
Senior Pastor

I wish above all things that you may know how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ for you.
