Singer-Songwriter Patrice Pike is coming to CHUMC!

As part of our laity ministry series, we have invited singer-songwriter, Patrice Pike, to share her music with us, and to share the story of Step Onward Foundation, a philanthropy she co-founded with Todd Young in 2006 (originally known as the Grace Foundation). Patrice grew up in Dallas. When she was 15, she began attending the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (aka the “Arts Magnet”). After graduating from Booker T. Washington, she attended the University of North Texas. She left the university and began a career as an original artist whose music is eclectic, unique, and filled with love. Her music has helped to create a sense of community of compassionate service in Austin and around the nation, culminating in the creation of the Step Onward Foundation, which began as an effort to help a single person overcome homelessness arising from healthcare burdens. Now Step Onward has raised over $1,000,000 to serve its unique mission which is to break the cycle of homelessness for young adult survivors of childhood homelessness and for families put at risk of homelessness through their children’s health crises. Step Onward accomplishes this by providing education, housing, wellness resources, advocacy, and mentorship through sustaining partnerships with individuals and organizations helping to create a world at home and abroad where young adults and families who are at risk of homelessness reach their full potential as healthy, happy and self-sufficient adults who give back to their communities.

EPHESIANS 3:18

I wish above all things that you may know how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ for you.
