Covenant GroupsChapel Hill UMC Wesley Covenant Groups

The idea of an evening and/or afternoon Wesley Covenant Group came up over a year ago, when we were beginning the morning Wesley Covenant Group which came to be known as Wesley Covenant Companions and has now been meeting for just over a year.

A graduation ceremony with individual Certificates awarded for completing Year I were awarded this past September 2012. We study and pray and have lunch together and enjoy wonderful companionship. Groups are generally no more than 10-12 individuals.

It’s a blessing to be able to experience a Covenant Group relationship at a Methodist church. Just ask the women who are in the 1st Wesley Covenant Group here at Chapel Hill UMC.

Graduates of the Monday morning Wesley Covenant Companions group are: Kaye Bandy, Linda Horton, Donna Daggett, Nancy Putnam, Judy Charvat, Iris Shivar, AnaLaura Gamborino, Heidi Tolle, and Sherry Vineyard.

Three weeks ago, Vin and Kathy Scheihagen held the 1 st meeting of what has come to be known as the “Caring and Sharing” Covenant Group which meets weekly on Monday evenings. This is Chapel Hill’s first evening Wesley Covenant group!

If you have a desire to start up or become part of a Wesley Covenant Group, come and see me. Materials on what it’s all about and how to do it are available in the Adult Education office. Don’t you think it would be nice to initiate a weekly afternoon Wesley Covenant Group? I do!
