Thanks for the Memories
What a wonderful “going away party!” Beginning with the delicious & beautifully designed cake, so many hugs, the cute bracelet with the hand bell from my favorite ‘ding-a-lings’, the great musical blanket with your words of love and encouragement, and then the surprise of all, the incredible monetary gift. WOW! You have always been a very generous church, but I was never expecting anything like this. I am going to have such a wonderful time deciding what I will buy in Spain. Perhaps a Picasso or Dali painting. . . well possibly a print, I don’t know, but I do know we will be going to see their works, so who knows.
As I’ve said, from day one I fell in love with the people of Chapel Hill and my fondness for you never changed. Chapel Hill has been one of my favorite churches to serve. I will continue to follow your life in the newsletter and perhaps I’ll even visit you one day, but always know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
