Good Morning Chapel Hill!
A few of our youth have returned to school already, but most are enjoying their last precious week of summer… sleeping in late, swimming, eating everything in sight…!
This coming Sunday, August 25th, 4:00 to 6:00 pm, they will come together for a UMYF Back to School Bash. They will enjoy a pasta dinner and cake, welcome the new 6th graders to the free time game tables in the youth room, and hold an “epic” water balloon fight in the parking lot!
I have really enjoyed watching our small group grow in maturity over the past year and a half. We are now able to have very interesting conversations about Scripture and Faith.
Something new you might notice is that the youth are taking some notes on Sunday morning during the Sermon. They turn these in to me and on Wednesday nights, during our devotion, we discuss what they perceived to be the main point and any connections they made to their own lives, or any questions that occurred to them. Learning to digest God’s word is certainly a part of growing up in the Faith, and I am so proud of our kids.
