I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend, spending time with friends and family. There was a good turnout of youth for the Farmers Branch fireworks show last Thursday evening.
I would like to thank Edrese Hanigan for bringing dinner for UMYF last Wednesday evening, Kaye Bandy for volunteering this week, and the others who have signed up for various weeks during the summer. There are still weeks open if any would like to offer dinner. Also, a thank you to those of the Youth Council that stayed after service yesterday.
The youth enjoyed a night where they were able to throw water balloons around the playground, and yesterday during Sunday school, they listed some ideas that they would like to discuss during the Sunday school hour that included: digging into various books of the Bible, different topics within the Bible, including the Ten Commandments and contradictions found within, and what does it say about topics they face each day.
Youth and parents, keep an eye out for opportunities coming soon within the coming weeks, where the youth will be able to participate in local mission opportunities. An email will be sent out, as well as through the Newsletter providing details.
