March 7, 2014: Did You Know? Rachel Jayne Tolle

Rachel Jayne Tolle was born in Houston, lived in California, but now makes Farmers Branch her home with her mother Heidi, father Rob, sister Hannah, and brother Jack. Three years ago, she and her family came to Chapel Hill through Dawn Self, our children’s director. She has a beautiful voice and became an active member in the choir before joining Chapel Hill about one year ago. She has been a soloist and also sang a beautiful duet with her father, which we were blessed to hear. The choir is grateful to have a young strong soprano like Rachel to enhance the music ministry of CHUMC. She has sung in the Brookhaven choral group which requires tryouts. Now that takes talent!!!

In addition to being in the choir, Rachel has worked on many youth projects with our UMYF program. She also has helped with Children’s Christmas Workshop and VBS. Her creativity really shines through when she is working behind the scenes on costumes, scenery for plays and other artistic needs for the various projects. And she always does it with a big smile and an awesome attitude.

Rachel is a junior at R.L.Turner in Farmers Branch. She also loves to bake and started her own bakery business a couple of years ago. You have seen her beautiful cakes, pop cakes and cupcakes at some of our functions. If you need a baked item for some special event, feel free to call Rachel and ask her about what she can do to make that occasion even better. Her hobbies are drawing and painting.

She has played the cello for her high school for about 6 years and we have been blessed to have her play for our church service and hope to hear her again. She also does Tech Theater for her High School. It makes one wonder how she can be such a good student and still have time for all her activities. Take time to tell Rachel how much you enjoy her music and all the other things she does for CHUMC and her community.

EPHESIANS 3:18

I wish above all things that you may know how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ for you.
