May 9, 2014: Did You Know? Joanne Marchant

Joanne MarchantJoanne Marchant, one of our newest members, was born in Oklahoma and raised in Wisconsin before coming to Dallas. She was a friend of Sherry Vineyard in another organization when Sherry invited her to a Lenten Service, which she enjoyed very much. Due to her work schedule, she had been absent from church services for 20 years, but after the Lenten experience, she became a member of Chapel Hill during Pentecost in 2012.

She was not shy about getting involved and has been a member of our Nurture, Outreach, and Adult Education Committees, as well as being a reader for our PT summer program. She was part of the African Planning Committee and worked very hard on their fundraising campaigns.

She has been part of several Bible studies and is part of the Walkie Talkies, as well as the Monday morning meetings of Companions in Christ. In her previous church memberships, she was also very involved, serving on many committees including finance and teaching Children and Adult Sunday School Classes. She also has been involved in lay speaking.

Before retiring, Joanne was a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LASO) and worked with Child Protective Services. She has three funny dogs and one adult child. She enjoys reading and writing and is game for anything that comes up. She says she has forgotten most of what she learned but can still speak Spanish.

As you can tell, Joanne is a fun-loving person and a great addition to our church family. You can usually find her in one of the back pews of the sanctuary, so look her up and introduce yourself. You will be glad you did.

EPHESIANS 3:18

I wish above all things that you may know how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ for you.
