January 19, 2015: Epiphany Ministries of Texas for Youth Offenders

The Lord replied, “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.” Luke 17:6

Dear Brother and Sisters in Christ,

I’m writing from San Juan, TX about 20 minutes from the Evins Regional Juvenile Center. We’ve just finished with the second day of our first Epiphany course for youth offender participants (Stars) and the new team is weathering the spiritual storm that has been brewing the last two days. Day one, we lost two Stars in the morning but God replaced them with new Stars and then we lost five Stars yesterday afternoon.

Thank you for your prayers today, three of the Stars returned to Epiphany Ministries’ course today asking for forgiveness. Our topic of the day is forgiveness so God is still in control. But the sad news was, we had three youth try to escape and four more Stars leave Epiphany Ministries’ course today. One because of safety and three because of the football games on TV, but the team formed a prayer circle and we prayed for all the Stars and staff for God to increase his Holy Spirit in this place for the rest of the weekend and lift the teams spirits’ for Epiphany Ministries second course in six months. Again, God bless you for your prayers and support, for the Stars of the Evins unit, this new team, and most of all your prayers for me.

IHH,
David Ricks

P.S. Next article, when God is done.
