More from your Chapel Hill UMC Outreach Team June, 2012

WOW! Fantastic Blessings Chapel Hill UMC family! What a wonderful, giving Spring.

The teachers and staff at Cabell Elementary really enjoyed all the delicious salads and desserts you provided for their appreciation lunch on May 7. It was a great way to start Teacher Appreciation Week for them. Many thanks to our wonderful cooks at Chapel Hill, to those who helped with getting the food to Cabell, with setting up and the clean-up. Many people asked for recipes so, if you would email your recipes to Iris at hope75234@yahoo.com and she will get the recipes to Cabell when school starts again in August. Felice, everyone raved over the fun decorations! Have a look at the Outreach bulletin board…….. there are lots of Thank You notes from Cabell.

Thank you to our Youth and their leaders and to all at Chapel Hill UMC who enjoyed making the bookmarks to go with the books for the Cabell students’ Summer reading.

Lots of needed non-perishable food will be delivered this week to Methodist Breadbasket. Continue bringing the items needed for the UMCOR kits (click here for list of items).

Friday, June 1, servants from Chapel Hill UMC gave their time and love as they served at The Stew Pot at the Bridge. Our next opportunity to serve at The Stew Pot will be for dinner on Friday, July 6. Mark your calendar and watch for the sign-up sheet.

New Summer opportunity for sharing and serving: Sack Summer Hunger with Metrocrest Social Services. There will be a flyer in your bulletin Sunday, June 10, with details as to days and times for sacking-up the non-perishable food and delivering sacks on Saturdays. This will be rewarding for those serving especially since Sack Summer Hunger provides what the children usually have at school during the school year.

Our next Carter Blood Care Blood Drive: Third Sunday, September 16.
