My name is Isiak Holiday, Jr. and I am a native of Huntsville, TX. I graduated with a B.A. in English from Sam Houston State University. Being a music minor, I studied vocal pedagogy, music education, and conducting.
Growing up in Huntsville, I took my first piano lesson when I was 12 and became a choir director/pianist out of necessity when I was about 14 years old. Our small Baptist church needed someone to play and since I was free, I was the best choice. As a senior in high school, a local Methodist church needed someone and they actually paid. Wow, my first paying gig!
In 2006, I moved to the Rockwall area when I became the Director of Music Ministries at First UMC of Heath. Now I know I have skipped a lot between my high school years and 2006. Suffice it to say, there have been many blessings, many triumphs, a few failures, but most of all I’ve seen God’s hand over my life. (For you curious ones, between my high school years and now, I have been a school bus driver, private voice and piano teacher, prison guard, juvenile correctional officer, shoe salesman, electronics salesman, and Zumba instructor.)
Now at Chapel Hill UMC, I look forward to working with God’s people to create a passionate and meaningful worship experience where one can come to be revived and excited about HIM.
