The Introduction
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new has come”.

The decline of mainline protestant denominations in North America is a well-documented phenomena. It is no secret that the United Methodist Church, including Chapel Hill Church, is part of this decline. What if, for many churches, one of the contributing factors to this decline is that the church has lost sight of who she is? That many churches are currently suffering from an identity crisis.
At Chapel Hill, we are beginning to understand and even embrace, our primary mission as a church…..to make disciples of Jesus Christ. But, in the midst of shifting demographics, we too are suffering from an identity crisis. We are not sure of exactly who we are.
In this series, we will seek to establish who we are, and what we do, as we go about the task of making disciples of Jesus Christ. Our hope and prayer is that at the end of this series, we will understand that we are … loving, learning, and living. And, that we provide … help, hope, and home. We pray that we will be able to declare….”We are….Chapel Hill!” Knowing what that entails.
