During the Lenten season, as a church family, we will be studying “Creed”, a bible study based on the Apostle’s Creed. In parallel to this Bible study, our sermon series during Lent will also be focused on what we believe. While many of us are familiar with the Apostle’s Creed (we recite it almost every Sunday), there is much more that we, as United Methodists, believe.
This series will focus on our Social Principles and Social Creed, which are contained in both the Book of Discipline and the Book of Resolutions. During this series, we will certainly not be able to address all of our social principles. However, we will attempt to address a few that are particularly relevant in our current setting. Our hope for this series, and the Lenten Season, is that at its conclusion, we will be able to more clearly understand and articulate what, “We Believe”.
This coming Sunday, we will be hearing from a guest preacher, Sabine Schneider. She is a pastor from another church and is a friend to Chapel Hill Church. She will be helping us continue our series We Believe with her sermon titled “I Believe.” Please join us this Sunday as we continue to journey through our beliefs
