We are making progress, and God’s plan for our church is exciting and wanted to let you know all that is happening with Pathway Ministires!
This past year we were able to get two new church signs done – thanks be to God for sending Ben Ralston our way and for his generous donation.
Mary Helen Fagan and Vin Scheihagen (many thanks to both!) set up our new Welcome Table, complete with Connect Cards, business cards, information about Chapel Hill UMC, and the classes and groups we offer. Please consider volunteering on a Sunday morning to greet. It’s wonderful to be greeted with smiles and a great way to meet everyone. Pathway Ministry signup sheets are on the table outside of the office.

Emily Hardwick and Pastor Odom created very nice Chapel Hill visitor’s packets, complete with Connect Cards for visitors to complete and return to us. Thanks very much for all of Emily’s hard work, and to Pastor Odom for his knowledge and guidance.
We have plans in the works for new visitors to receive ‘coupons’ that can be redeemed at a subsequent visit for a Methodist based devotional or book of church interest.
We are researching banners with our personal stained glass and boat image that will clearly define our Welcome Visitors table and Connect Corner (which will be in the coffee/sitting area of Fellowship Hall).
Under Pathway Ministries, Pat Moore (thank you Pat!) has now combined the ushers and greeters into a consolidated group, simplifying these areas and updating training as needed.
We have discussed many options for Pathway Ministries to help the church grow disciples including, community life groups organized by zip codes, and new member mentors among them. We are investigating everything from our church identity on our website, to our mission and vision.
We are working on updating the way that we track visitors with our new database software. We will keep you updated on its progress and any changes that may be made from its integration into our church.
