We, as human beings, live in community. Whether we like it or not, whether we acknowledge it or not,
we live in community! We are social creatures. Our schools, our jobs, our neighborhoods, our churches,
all have social norms and structures. From the time our parents first drop us off at the nursery or daycare, we are taught to live and function in community.
Webster defines community as, ”a unified body of individuals”. In order to be community, there must be
something that unifies us, that binds us together, that connects us. Sometimes it may be proximity.
Sometimes it may be affinity. For those of us who claim Christ as our Savior, it is our faith.
In this sermon series, we will explore this notion of community, and that which connects us so that we
become a faith community. We will look at why we connect, how we connect, and how we can make
better/stronger connections.
