CHUMC Family,
We have enjoyed seeing a number of you in worship on Sundays. While we have not utilized any means of knowing who is online with us, I hope more of you have been able to continue to connect to our livestream and participate in that way. If you are having any issues, please let us know, so we can try to make it more accessible for you. Please note, we continue to hone our live streaming craft to, hopefully, make it a more meaningful experience for those who connect with us online. I know this will benefit our homebound members in the long term as well as anyone who is unable to be with us on a given Sunday. We are also looking at ways to connect online with new people in ways that invite them into the community of faith and seek to do so in a way that will balance the needs of all.
With worship in mind, keep an eye out over the next couple of weeks regarding Holy Week details. Holy Week will likely include a mixture of gathering via Zoom, gathering in the sanctuary, and gathering outside where we can sing together. We will let everyone know as the plan takes shape.
I know, by now, you have probably seen the news regarding the Center for Disease Control’s announcement regarding new guidelines concerning vaccinated people. Please note, we are reviewing these guidelines to determine what further possibilities these guidelines may open up for us at CHUMC. The Reopening Team will be meeting on March 22, to discuss this development and what it means for our local church.
Finally, this week is my family’s Spring Break so I am out on vacation. I pray you have a blessed week as we continue to embrace the journey toward deeper discipleship this Lent.
Grace and peace,
Rev. J.D. Allen
Senior Pastor
