In Children’s Ministry, our primary goal is to partner with parents as they teach their children to KNOW God. Our lessons, music, and crafts are designed to teach children who God is—His nature and attributes—and what He has done. We encourage kids to learn as much as they can about their awesome God by studying the Bible for themselves.
Our Goals
- To provide a safe, secure and loving environment for children where parents feel comfortable leaving their child.
- To help each child understand that God is real and that a personal relationship with Him gives meaning to life.
- To aid each child in accepting Jesus Christ and developing a dynamic relationship with Him.
- To provide children the opportunity to participate in worship and ministry at a level fitting their age and stage of development.
Oh, and did we mention… we want to have FUN!!!! On any given Sunday you will find the Chapel Hill UMC Children making crafts, playing games, learning about God and HAVING FUN. Check out the different programs we offer through our Children’s Ministry!
Sunday School
Every Sunday morning, we provide Sunday School from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Children should be dropped off and picked up from the age appropriate classroom. A nursery is provided for children age 0-2 with age appropriate Sunday School lessons in the form of stories and music. Children in 1st – 5th grade gather in the Garden Room for lesson introduction and then are taken to different classrooms for activities with that lesson. This rotational curriculum uses an art room and a Bible Times presentation room. The children learn about a different theme each month.
Children’s Choirs
At Chapel Hill, there is a place for all children to discover and use their creative gifts in our music ministry. The children’s choir meet on Sunday after worship.
For more information on our ministry please contact the church office or our InterimFamily and Children’s Minister, Melanie Willhite.
